Growing up in East Tennessee, the associates of Heartland Horse Sale have loved horses since childhood, but unfortunately, many have also purchased horses that turned out to be unpredictable and even dangerous. Our goal is to ensure that your horse finds an appropriate home...even if it occasionally misbehaves. We don't believe that there are "bad" horses, but there are horses that have bad habits...and inexperienced horse owners and/or the horses they purchase can end up seriously injured if they are unprepared. We firmly believe that there is a perfect owner for every horse...and a perfect horse for every rider. The key is to be honest and forthright from the beginning in order to find a match.
Having said that, we only deal with horses that are saddle broke, which means that we must avoid wild, undomesticated animals that are hard, if not impossible, to evaluate. We will still be happy to advertise these horses for you, but we cannot properly gauge their temperament or suitability; therefore, we cannot assure you that they will be sold. Nevertheless, every horse...whether spirited, spooky, laid-back, or downright lazy...deserves a good home where they will be cared for and loved.
